GOP CANDIDATES (4) CLOSING IN

By Nathan Taylor

The Circus That is The 2012 GOP Presidential Race

When I thought about writing this column, I really didn’t know where I was going to start. So, I figured why not share my own experience with this years Presidential race. First, let me start by saying that as a voter it was amazing that we started out with over 10 candidates–all of which I might say would do a better job than our current President. It was almost like going into Baskin-Robbins and having a hard time choosing which flavor you wanted. I mean one day it was Perry, the next day it was Newt, and then Cain, and so on and so on…

AS GOVERNOR ROMNEY SOUGHT EARMARKS!

If you will recall recent 'slams' directed toward Rick Santorum by Mitt Romney referencing Santorum's Earmarks you'd think Romney had a spotless record about the Eramark situation.

Far from it! Read an exerpt from an AP article by Andrew Miga:

"When Romney was governor and his state was desperately seeking federal dollars to repair crumbling roads and bridges, his administration suggested earmarks for projects to lawmakers on Capitol Hill who were in a position to request the money.

NEVADA - RON FUTRELL POSSIBLE RUN FOR WARD 2

Dear Friend,

I'm sending this to a select few on my list to let you know of the possibility that I may run for Las Vegas City Council, Ward 2 (first, I must tell you that I am not asking for money so you can read on :)

I have lived in Ward 2 for more than 20 years. My wife and I raised our family on the eastern border of the Ward in the Angel Park, Palmhurst and Westcliff area. Like many of you we watched this area grow from tumbleweeds to towers. I still smile as I remember the opening of Jacobson Elementary and see Tyler and Chelsea releasing the purple and white balloons into the air. It seems like a short time ago I played the first rounds of golf at the grand opening of Canyon Gate and Badlands golf courses. Time flies.

The Banking Protection Racket: The Dismantling Of The Middle Class

The banking protection racket – 5 charts highlighting the laundering and dismantling of the middle class.  New methods of looking at employment.  Peak debt and tweaking statistics.

The hidden cost of bailouts and Fed policy
Household wages have not benefitted from the trillions of dollars in bailouts.  Banks of course are back to their gambling ways even after bringing the economy to a near depression.  The end result?  Nothing has changed.  But inflation is creeping into the market:

LOOK! LEARN! WHAT WILL AMERICA LOOK LIKE IF LIBERALS HAVE THEIR WAY!

Do you want to see what a 21st century economic depression looks like?  Just look at Greece.  Once upon a time, the Greek economy was thriving, the Greek government was borrowing money like there was no tomorrow and Greek citizens were thoroughly enjoying the bubble of false prosperity that all that debt created.  Those that warned that Greece was headed for a financial collapse were laughed at and were called “doom and gloomers”.

"Those who have been once intoxicated with power, and have derived any kind of emolument from it, even though but for one year, never can willingly abandon it.  They may be distressed in the midst of all their power; but they will never look to anything but power for their relief."   Edmund Burke

Like political power, a massive black hole is an insatiable beast.  It will literally absorb (eat) anything that gets too close.  It eats surrounding gases, whole stars, star systems and planets.  And as it eats, it grows and the more it eats the larger and more powerful it gets.  Its power reaches out deeper and deeper into the heavens and warps the very fabric of space and time.   A black hole is a whirlpool in the universe and its immense gravity powers entire galaxies while it clears the space around it like a giant vacuum cleaner, inside its event horizon.  At its center is a point of infinite density where the laws of physics no longer apply.  It is, in its growing sphere of influence, the epitome of absolute power.  Not even light can escape it.

POLITICAL DIGEST 02/12/2012 CONSERVATIVE

Excerpt: Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney on Saturday won Maine's Republican primary contest, reversing a week-long skid and halting, at least temporarily, the recent momentum of former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum. With 84 percent of precincts reporting, Romney had secured 39 percent of the vote, versus 36 percent for second-place finisher Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas). Santorum, who was fresh from surprise victories in Minnesota, Missouri and Colorado, finished third with 18 percent. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) trailed a distant fourth with 6 percent.

Excerpt: Mitt Romney took first place in a straw poll of conservative activists conducted at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), besting rival Rick Santorum by 7 points. Romney took 38 percent of the 3,408 participants in the straw poll, conducted by the Washington Times and CPAC over three days. Santorum came in second with 31 percent, followed by Newt Gingrich with 15 percent and Ron Paul with 12 percent.

SANTORUM GAINING STEAM

Santorum amplifies Faith in a way GOP rivals don’tRick Santorum stirs his ever-growing crowds when he promises to right a country awash in “immoral debt” and to replace an administration he argues has “callousness toward life and family and faith.” Of the GOP presidential hopefuls, Santorum is the most public and emphatic about his faith, drawing on his Catholicism and deeply held views on social issues as the foundation of his message. It serves to solidify his standing among religiously motivated voters – and subtly remind them of lingering reservations of opponent Mitt Romney’s spiritual background.Read More

OBAMA'S GIVEAWAYS OF OUR TAXES WILL RUIN US

The Sun is Setting (Tell Everyone You Know)If we say nothing while watching someone walk off a cliff and plunge to her death we would be criminally negligent. If we ride past a home in the early morning and see smoke rising from the roof and don’t call 911 we would be criminally negligent. Today, as we watch our nation walk off a cliff, as we watch the smoke rise from the home of the brave and the land of the free, if we do not do all we can to raise the awareness of our fellow Americans we are criminally negligent. Those who are awake to the coming end of limited government have watched this slow motion train wreck for our entire lives. We have watched as inch by inch the Federal Government has lured our fellow citizens into one entitlement trap after another. We have wondered when they will wake up and pay attention.Read More

EPA INTRUDING ON ALASKAN BUSINESSES NEEDLESSLY

Alaska Natives ask EPA to stop threatening their economyAbe Williams and Lisa Reimers of Nuna Resources, an Alaska Native consortium, flew to Washington this week to see Environmental Protection Agency Director Lisa Jackson. They wanted to ask her help ensuring the survival of their Bristol Bay region’s Native Alaskan tradition and culture. They got a response as frosty as Alaska in February. Nuna Resources and its native village constituency want to allow impartial scientific studies to build the Pebble Mine near their homes and villages. The natives do not specifically endorse the mine, which would exploit the largest known ore body of copper on the planet. But they want its proposed developer, the Pebble Limited Partnership, to be given a fair hearing for its claims of environmental and cultural protection on Native traditional lands.Read More
